About 30 yrs ago a historic house on Suffolk/Essex border was moved a few hundred yards, but I've a feeling it was timber framed. It is of course possible to move traditonal brick or stone and tile house, but you have to dismantle it brick (stone) by brick (stone), numbering each, transporting then rebuilding brick by brick. So whatever labour cost of building house of that size, double it and add about 25% maybe even 50% of build cost, which IMHO makes it unfeasible.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Conceivably it could just be easier to dynamite a hole in the place 300 feet away and direct floodwaters down there. You could keep some koi carp in there too. :)
  • Hey guys .I think house is the most important that any one can have and I will do anything to protect it. Actually it is a old house and its base is becoming weaker due to continuous rain. That’s why I wanted to move this house to a safer place. After hours and hours of searching I finally decided to hire this company Wolfe. I post this because may be this will helpful for someone. I will share the pictures and videos of House move. you can also find some good pictures in their site http://wolfehousebuildingmovers.com/.

http://www.wolfehousebuildingmovers.com/pastjob.html It's amazing that they move stone and brick buildings as well as wooden ones.

Not much call for them in the UK but thanks anyway.

    Well spammed, sir! :T

Though perhaps next time you should correctly type the website of the company you're shamelessly promoting (Hint: you only need three "W"s at the start of the web address).....
Oh come on, don't be silly.

    It's the internet
    - it's not real!

  • That might have been the original intention, but what's the use of spamming in the UK.

    It's still interesting though.:rotfl:
