Trying to copy some of our old videos to dvd ( for personal use).
Some of them are copy protected. Is there any way round this?
Thanks in advance.

do you have a separate video and dvd recorder......
i do, and can play the video back , the dvd recorder the picks up the signal via the coax cable (aerial cable).
picture quality can be affected
you might be better waiting for the film to come on tv and then recording it straight onto dvdsmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

I copied a video straight to my DVD recorder just using a scart lead, it came out perfectly, dunno if the tape was copy protected though but it was a bought DVD not recorded off telly.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I saw the BBC's click program about this .. and thought ... what are they on about!
It's so easy do to via a scart cable connection .. as Coveredinbees!!!! and robnye say .. there is really no need for fancy converters and such like!0 -
I think it depends on your DVD recorder - a lot of pre-recorded VHS tapes have something called Macrovision protection on them , and when the DVD recorder sees this , it won't record them (my Panasonic comes up with the message "NOREC")0
