    Hi Andy

After much shopping around, we've just taken receipt of this, they also have a standalone site, www.dotcombathrooms.com.

I chose it based on the fact that it was the best value (i.e. quality vs. price vs. our requirements) warmer to come with a summer element - we rarely have the central heating on in our little well insulated house, so I thought it was worth the extra to get a warmer that we'd actually get use out of. I also like the fact that there are 3 apertures for towels to hang. It arrived really quickly and appears to be excellent quality.

Mr P bought it direct, worked his magic and got them to do him a deal along with the valves, and it worked out very economical - you may find that you could negotiate a good price on a warmer of your desired dimensions without an element from them, the equivalent elsewhere with a summer element cost around half as much again, so they're likely to be competative on the model you want...

Can't specifically vouch for the white ones (we have the stainless steel one which is more expensive but we got it because it has an extra towel gap - they use the fact that stainless steel emits more energy than chromed steel so they can get away with it) but try these - http://www.totalbathrooms.co.uk/Bathroom-Heating/Towel-Rails/Elegance-Radius/Elegance-Radius-750-x-600mm-Heated-Towel-Rail.

If you go to the abacus website you can look at the online brochure for the BTU outputs of various sizes but to save you the bother here is the link to the home page http://www.abacusdirectltd.com/main/brand-elegance.html - click on the online brochure. Basically the 750x600mm is 2293BTU in white, if you can squeeze to 1120 tall you can either have the 450wide at 2775BTU or the 600wide at 3118.

The advantage of these is that they are air tested not water tested which avoids them being rusty by the time you get them. The stainless steel ones are lifetime guaranteed but obviously you pay more for them. Don't bother with their own electric elements or valves - they take standard ones that you can get cheaper from any plumbers merchants. We got ours from totalbathrooms as its 2 minutes away from us and we could avoid the delivery charge (although in the end they dropped it round anyway as we'd bought loads of other stuff and it was so close!). You may be able to find the same cheaper elsewhere.

Phirefly, did you get the Mayfair taps that you were considering. If so what do you think of them? I'm currently considering getting the third one down here http://www.discountedheating.co.uk/shop/acatalog/Mayfair_Series_D_Bathroom_Brassware_Fillers_Spouts_Mixers_Taps.html

As you can see i'm stuck on the discountedheating website today - mainly because of their big choice of towel rails!

    Andy

Yes, we got the mayfair taps but they're being delivered on Wednesday. I shopped around everywhere and found discountedheating was indeed the cheapest place to get these by far, although we ended up getting them from our local Michael Pavis who pricematched. I'll let you know what they're like once they're here!

Thanks Phirefly! I hadn't considered Homesupply at all for anything yet. They've got the abacus towel rail i was considering cheaper as well. For the tap and towel rail that's about £30 saving!

Well you know me, I like to spread my Phirey magik about the place - you can paypal me a 5% finders fee ;)

I'll test out homesupply's customer service with my questions and see if they are any better!
I cancelled my original order with Michael Pavis and am just about to order the taps with Homesupply. I called them today to ask about lead time and the chap was infinitely helpful. Let me know how you fare.

Guess i'll have to clear the spare room out to store all this stuff and keep it away from an inquisitive, mischievous pup!

The basset thought pulling apart all my pebble tile samples was great sport. She's given the bath currently residing in the garden a wide berth though....

Glad to hear homesupply are coming up trumps.

We had a basin crisis earlier this week, turned out the basin we ordered has had manufacture halted, and cannot be sourced anywhere from stock, we were told by the supplier the day before the fit was due to commence. A day of panic and ringing round secured an alternative (three tap hole square basins make hens teeth look commonplace) but we've had to put the fit back 2 weeks :(

Luckily I managed to find a duravit basin I like way more than the ideal standard one we can't have, can't understand why I didn't come across it in the initial search. The delay also gives us a bit more grace to find the last bits and bobs like bottle trap, wastes, cabinet etc etc...

I definitely think you should bite the bullet and get ordering!
