Plaster Ceiling Rose - how to stick to ceiling?

Hi,

I have a plaster ceiling rose which I'd like to affix to my ceiling. It's about 14" in circumference and is reasonably heavy, though not super heavy!

Please could anyone recommend the best thing to use to stick it to my ceiling? I have a tube of that "no nails" stuff, or I have tile adhesive or cement(?!). I'm not sure what would be most effective and don't want it to come crashing down....

The ceiling is a smooth surface - it's a Victorian house and I think ceiling may be lathe and plaster though not sure.

Also, when I stick it to the ceiling please does anyone know what I could use to support it whilst the adhesive (or whatever) sets?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Kind regards
