Well it should be NSD today - have only got to go to work later and I can;t spend any money there !!!

:wave: Wow! :dance: Some of us are off to a flying start! Nice work my lovelies - and welcome to all the new joiners and returners! The Official List Of Motivation is looking very loo-o-o-ong!

I've spaced it out a bit so that you can see who your teammates are who are aiming for the same (or very similar) number of NSDS.

This challenge is not a competition but it's nice to know you have other people along for the ride with you...It makes it feel more do-able somehow.


I clocked up an NSD yesterday and the day before thanks to the fact that we can't seem to find the taps I want in stock anywhere!
(and the plumber is coming to fit them on Friday!!!! :eek: )

I want the proper old school HOT and COLD, black writing on cream type twisty taps for the bathroom sink and the same style in a shower mixer for over the bath but whilst everybody sells them - nobody has 'em in stock and the DIY store herberts I have dealt with so far have not been helpful. "yeah well the computer says they're in stock, but nobody's put them on the shelves yet. best come back tomorrow...." *shrug*

Even my patented and usually reliable "fierce face" didn't get me any joy! (Only to be used as a last resort when all the charm I possess has failed!)

I'm still feeling a bit pooey with this chest / ear infection so I'm not at either of my jobs today, and I'm not spending any money either so that means I'm on my third NSD on the third day.

(But I still have to buy taps before Friday at 9am!)

Ooh and my milk /bread /etc delivery came again today - but at a more civilised 8:30am.

Now if they could just come on a daily basis instead of randomly every few days then we'd be laughing! :rolleyes:

Okay 3rd of the month and three no spend days! I suspect being ill in bed with a fluey cold over the weekend has a lot to do with it :rolleyes:

This month is by way of an experiment for me and I am being extremely strict and counting all spends so I am unable to join the ranks of the people who have achieved a NSD just yet.

It is vital that I gain control over my finances so I am hoping that this month will be a learning experience for me and then I can set more appropriate rules for myself next month.

The bus to work costs me money every week day, but I could walk if I left about 30 minutes earlier, or even cycle if the weather wasn't too wet and windy so I am counting my bus fares.

Lunch is another expense. I only have myself to blame if I couldn't pack a lunch because there's no bread due to a late night toast binge so I am counting my lunch spending.

My food shopping would be much more efficient if I could be more organised, do a meal plan, and shop once a week, but because I pass shops on my route home I am always nipping in. Not only am I spending more than I need to, I am also gaining weight. For this reason I am counting food shopping as well.

Hopefully once I get the essential expenditure organised I willl be able to focus on the non-essential spending. I haven't been in a place of my own for very long and I had no idea how tempting it would be to buy candles, throws, lamps, and mirrors all the time!
