Assuming the cause is related to Firefox, what is causing the slowness? Is it cpu usage? Excessive disk access?

There can be problems with Firefox and/or extensions that cause one or the other.

I was thinking if i uninstall any firefox add ons i have and see how that goes, it wasnt any particular program which caused it to go slow well memory usage wasnt particulary high for anything but i didnt check the CPU usage,

    thanks for the link

Before you start uninstalling things, you can always start FF in safe mode to see the problem still occurs.

Should it be an extension/theme/plug-in, remember that you can disable them from the addons dialogue rather than unistall each one. Makes troubleshooting easier and quicker. :) Normally need to close and restart the browser completely before an enable/disable will take effect.
