Try using conditioner instead of shaving foam. Works wonders.

I suffer this too, I tend to blast my legs before getting out of the shower with really hot water, as hot as I can bear and it can help (for some odd reason! Some people do it with cold water, see what suits you!). I also use really thick moisturisers on my legs, haven't found the perfect one (actually, I did but I bought it from Majorca on holiday and haven't found it anywhere else!) but I'm currently using Palmers Cocoa Butter and it seems to work OK, when the itching gets really bad I use a hot wet flannel to rub over my legs to soothe them then use some Boots Expert cream, I think it's called something like skin soothing cream, not too sure but it's like E45 Itch Relief but about half the price!

The biggest thing I've found is that when your legs are itchy and you've got to scratch (and I know what you mean about scratching until you bleed, I can give myself bruises too!) to give them a wipe with a flannel before putting any cream on to try to soothe them a little first because the cream can sting and make it feel worse!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Best moisturiser I've used (and I love a good scratch - my H hates it when I itch in bed) is Aqueous Cream (you can get from chemist - really cheap). Most moisturisers don't last more than a day on my dry legs but this stuff does. Also try the tip of using conditioner. Soap is VERY drying and will only add to the problem.

My itchy legs I used to have in winter disappeared once I started taking vitamin D - but then my legs itched, my forearms, and my lower back too, all disappeared, so is it just itching or is it seasonal? I used to try not to shave my legs in winter 'cos it always got worse after shaving.

I second the conditioner tip - it makes your legs nice and soft, the razor glides easily, make sure you give it a good rinse between 'strokes' iyswim, will get a good shave and leave your legs nice and soft - nicer than soap based products, and nice and cheap too.:money:
