intensive driving course - help?

i recently went on a 5 day intensive driving school, moved to dif hotel as stated, which was total !!!!!, no tv etc,so that didnt help preparation, got to the 4th day everything going well driving wise, apart from instructor, complete arsewipe, talking to me like a child, rude, obnoxious, although instructor still says im up to test standard. then on afternoon of 4th day find out instructor has to be examined himself (apparently happens every 3-4 years). my drive goes ok, then find out he has failed his assessment (secretly overheard by my co-learner) and is on probation from now on. now this straightaway unsettles me as ive received a weeks instruction from someone who is obviously not up to standard himself. then 10 mins after all this says i have a mock test with a dif examiner, i didnt do well on this but i put it totally down to the unsettlement of all this, then my instructor decides i shouldnt go forward for test (next day) , i feel i would have been ok, after calming overnight, so i lose 3 hours tutition and test fee, i just feel the whole week was a joke service wise and i would def not recommend. will state company upon their reply.
what grounds do i have here for a refund? i think its totally unacceptable for this to happen. its not sour grapes cos i understand i want to be safe on the road, but i just wondered if i had a leg to stand on refund wise?

Hmm I did something similar for my motorbike and although my instructors didn't think I was up to test standard they still let me go for the test they had booked me!! As life goes, i DID pass but they didn't cancel just because they thought I couldn't... a test is a good experience even if you fail!Kavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

I'm surprised they did not let you take the test, as Kavanne states it would be good practice.
I don't think you can get a full refund, however they should give you some of your money back, or a big discount if you go back.0 -
my major gripe really is that the instructor was not up to standard....so surely this is good grounds here, im rebooking more lessons and another test here, but i think im due monies back,as i feel they didnt provide a satisfactory service all round, instruction, hotel etc. what legal options do i have?0

Do you actually know for a fact that the instructor failed? From your OP it sounds as though your only evidence for this is overhearing someone else talking about it, which is not necessarily a good source of information. I would also be inclined to find out more about nature of the assessment before making a complaint as you don't want to undermine your own arguments if the facts are incorrect.0

I'd say a part of this is psychosomatic. You have heard via someone else who heard via overhearing someone that your instructor failed his assessment. Failed in what criteria? Perhaps he said the "F" word which counts as a fail?? Perhaps your co-learner driver wanted to un-nerve you?!?!
If your instructor didn't put you in for the test, and you felt you were ok to do this, then why didn't you say so??
If you've paid for the test and they wouldn't put you in for it, then you should be entitled to you test fee back, along with a refund for the 3 hours of lesson you missed out on.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
