What a great fish keeper you're going to be!

I actually think the welfare of fish should be discussed here.

PS I got a lovely £500+ 220 litre tank and cabinet for £100 off ebay, so spending £125 on some almost useless fish death trap isn't good money saving IMHO.

Not to mention the cartridges you'll need to buy ongoing,

Its called personal choice. I prefer my biorb to a big ugly tank that takes up half my dining room, and for the few tetra's I keep in it, that suits me.

As for being a "useless fish death trap" funny how mine have all been healthy and happy in it over the years isnt it?

You prefer your tank and thats your prerogative, but please dont come here belittling others for their preferences.

How much are the service packs? Not very MSE. Or nice to the poor fish.

I pay pennies for my filter changes you can get 12 sponges for £16.50 inluding postage from orbitfilters.co.uk it's saved a fourtune:j:T:T
  • Bi-orb recommend changing the filters every month. General thought is that this is too rapid and does not allow enough time for the bacteria to build-up to be effective. I too have been using the sponges and find them very cost effective. I have had my Bi-Ube for two years now and am very happy with it. The fish I have, although small in number and size appear to love it in there. I had a much bigger tank a while back and found it to need much more maintenance. Both myself and the fish appeared to be less happy in that than in the Ube.

Just to add, I have used charterhouse in the past too and find them very good.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have used CA for some years now and always found their products and customer service to be of extremely high quality. They sell all kinds of fish stuff -not just BiOrb. Incidentally my BiOrb has several Cardinal Tetras and looks stunning and is very easy to clean - fish are healthy and active -tank now up for 3 years,no problems.

I've got a huge tropical aquaruim (about 3ft across) complete with all the kit except a stand, which I can't find anywhere within my budget :(

So if anyone knows where I can get a stand, or would like the tank for a lot less than one of those silly biorbs (which i do think are cruel) drop me a line!
