hi, not sure if this is the right catagory but i have a shearling coat that needs cleaning ,,it is going to cost me £60 or £70 at the cleaners which i cannot afford,,can i clean it myself anyway ,if so how....my mum has a little steam cleaner , would that harm it,,it has dirty lines in the arm creases so do you think it will be easy to do myself without damaging it as it is very soft on the outside...i love the coat and it is the only one i have for winter and my only luxuary item that i won on ebay...thanks for any advice anyone..

I've washed a suede jacket in the washer before. I've also washed an M&S jacket which said to dry clean.
Now it's entirely upto you what you do, but both of my jackets came out fine as far as I can tell.
If you want to risk it, or if the stain is enough to put you off wearing the jacket, then I'd personally try it.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -
would it not ruin it in the wash.0

I read somewhere (I'll go look now) of some dry cleaning cloths. I don't think I was barking and made it up.
