I think a call to your GP would be appropriate so that you can find out what if any treatment or tests need to be done for you.
I'm sure it is more precautionery than anything but best to be on the safe side.0 -
If you're concerned then yes, definitely phone, it's important that you know if you daughter is unwell and if it's going to affect you.0

DS1 was at nursery when this spread through the nursery, I was 20 weeks pregnant. I saw my midwife who arranged a blood test and shortly afterwards I was told that both me and baby were ok as I had had this whilst I was a child(not aware that I had)see your GP and get some advice for both you and your daughter.
Good luck .0 -

Ring NHS direct they are really helpful, they take your details and a Nurse rings you back and as we all know the Nurses know everything!!!0

thanks all NHS24 just phoned and said i have to phone doctors in the morning to arrange a blood test. they only really worry before 20 weeks but said i should still go.
so a little relief and i have probably had it and not known!! they also said she can go back to nursery tom as the rash has appeared????What's for you won't go past you0 -
My 2yo just had this the other week, parvo or slapped cheek. She was ill before the red cheeks appeared, high temperature, no appetite, vomiting, diarrehea etc. I think it's normal they are ill like that if it's slapped cheek?0

According to this NHS article you're not infectious once the rash has come out so your daughter should be fine to go to nursery.0

The likelihood is you and the baby will be fine (about 60% of adults are immune anyway)
As someone has pointed out the main risk is up to 20 weeks (and even that risk is small - less than 5%) if you are worried contact your GP and ask them to test for your own immunity and exposure. If it turns out you have caught it (it can take up to 20 days to show) then they will normally regularly scan you to check for hydrops - if you develop it badly babhy will need blood transfusion(s)0
