Searched for car insurance and was delighted to find a quote £200 cheaper than nearest alternative. Having rung the number given the person advised tht he had a different price on the screen and would have to speak with manager to see which is correct.
I went through the online application process twice and it still gave the same price.
Clever ploy or honest mistake?
Happen to anyone else?

Most companies give a good discount for applying online. Last year I renewed my car insurance online and saved £37, just by not accepting the new written offer. Personally I find the lowest I can get then phone the company to see if you can get it any lower. My car insurance, fully comp, is now £114 from over £250 a couple of years ago.You cant take the trousers off an elephant!0

Not surprised you got a different price - call centres such as the one attached to insuresupermarket are run on targets targets targets, so if they're a bit behind in selling certain types of policies then they'll drop the prices a bit, but if they're ahead then they'll put them up a bit. This can change on an hourly basis. First get your quote online then phone to see if anything else can be shaved off. Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.0

The guy stated at the time that the price i had was different to what he had on the screen. I had gone through the system twice and got the same figure.
Said he would get back to me about it but no call as yet.
Might write a letter in and complain about the time i have lost messing about with this! :mad:0
