draughty windows

Hi,
Is there anything I can get to stop my windows/french doors being draughty?
My house isnt very old, it was built in 2005, I moved in May 07, but, with this windy weather, I see my blinds moving because of the wind. The french doors are particulary bad, and when I put my hand over to them, I can feel the cold air. I cant believe that they are so draughty when the house isnt that old.
No wonder my heating bills are so high, and its not as if I have my heating on all the time.
I really dont want to put heavy curtains up, unless I really really need to, which means, I would need to go and buy them, because, I dont have any.
Any advice would be greatfully received.
TIA
Jackie xx

my house is exactly the same, built end of 2004, and we are at an exposed area with great views but sometimes depending on the direction of the wind the draught that comes through the windows is unbelievable.
my windows are CR SMith windows and there are brown cheap plastic looking vents on each window which are closed but still the draught comes through.0 -
secondary glazing using shrink film on your windows is an option
I do this every winter and it certainly helps contain the heat at an inexpensive cost

curtains may be your only answer for the patio doors though
have a look on the old style board here they may have some other tips to offer

What are these French doors made of. It would appear that they are not making a good seal against the door jam. I would have thought that doors that are as recent as yours, would have had a good draught seal fitted as standard. Check to see if they are perhaps warped a little, and also that the seal is present, both at the point of meeting and around the edges. The seal could be displaced or even missing in places. If the blinds are moving in the wind it would indicate the presence of a gap in the seals for whatever reason. I assume that the trickle vents, if you have them, are closed. A thorough, close investigation should reveal the cause of the problem. Fitting curtains is only masking the problem at this stage.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

one of these products will help to stop any draughts from the door gap/seals.
are you sure its the door gaps/seals and not the outer frame?
a candle flame test will help you to find out.Get some gorm.0 -
Seasonal double glazing film:
Example here but most diy sheds sell it,

Depending on where the draughts are coming from ( a bit more precise info might help) then possibly adjusting the keepers or roller cams, adjusting hinges or reglazing heel and toe, fitting new hinges, or replacing bubble seal, wedge seal or silicone seal may help0

Same here, I live in a house built in 2002 and Barratts used the cheapest windows they could. Very drafty. The main problem I have is that the hinge side does not close to as it should, it does if the windows are slammed to.
I have added extra seals and this has helped quite alot0
