Hi
Been to koh samui 5 times now and goin again at xmas. We normally stay in lamai which is quiter than chawang but still plenty of bars and rests. Lamai inn 99 is a great little hotel right next to the beach-25 quid a night at xmas.
Check out if there is a full moon party at koh phanghan-mad night. Waterfalls are nice, easy to get to on a moped if your feeling brave. Big budha is worth a visit aswell. Also a day trip out to the marine park-snorkelling etc.0 -
Hi I was in Koh Samui a month or so ago and got a great deal on this hotel:

It's gorgeous and we loved the hotel, although the hotel restuarant was expensive, but about 2 minutes down the beach there were 4/5 really nice beachfront restaurants at very reasonable prices.
Have fun!0 -

I'm sure that you are excited about your holiday, but how many threads are you going to begin?
Anyway, it's worth renting a jeep in order to get around and try to find any interesting nooks and crannies.0
