I think the deposit appeared immediately (if not it was the next day) on the YBS account statement.
The money was earmarked in my current account immediately (ie the available balance reduced by the amount of deposit).
One of the quickest and easiest accounts I have ever opened.

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear (read).
My account was also opened instantly beacause I already had a Fixed ISA with them. Transfering money in sounds quick and easy, great news

PS You can also send a cheque with the opening amount too, so you wouldn't have a problem depositing as much as you like, just send it special delivery!

Opened one recently, was granted it on-line with no need for additional ID - very impressed so far.

I have just opened a YBS Ebond at 6.50% Fixed. I am wanting to transfer some money into this account by using my Debit Card as this seems to be a quick method to use. I am wanting to transfer £20,000+ into the account and my question is can I transfer all that amount in one transaction or is their a limit as to how much I can transfer at any one time?
I'm thinking it would be a good idea to open one of these in my wife's name. She can register for interest to be paid gross. Can that be done during the paperless, online application process do you know or did you notice? She has an ISA Privilege Plus with them so will close that after applying and pay that into the bond with some other money.

There is an option at the end of the process to register for gross interest.

when does a debit card pay-in start earning interest?

You will usually begin to earn interest on this deposit after 2 working days.

2 days after transfer (doesn't say whether it's working days or calendar days)
