Hi,
I am looking for somewhere to start saving my money. It needs to be safe, I may need instant access to it and I would like to achieve a good return but not necessarily the highest if it impacts on the two previous points.
My opening balance will not be more than £100 to start with but this will increase within the next month or two to around £1k upwards per month.
I've taken a look on fool.co.uk but I'm finding it difficult deciding and would appriciate some advice and opinions from other board members.
Many thanks

Have you read the Savings article on the main site, which should answer many of your questions?0

I have but I feel that there are so many options, I'm finding it difficult to narrow them down and am interested in what other people think.0

A couple of the instant access online accounts to look at:
Egg.com - 6.55%
IF.com - 6.4%
Withdrawals by transfer to your bank account, so you're 3 days away from your money.
There are other accounts out there too.0 -
Personally, as I have no mortgage/loans, etc., the first thing which I would do is fill up an easy access Cash ISA with this tax year's allowance of £3,600, then look at other tax-free options, such as NS&I Index linked offerings and finally taxable savings products.0
