I've worked out that ill need about £1000 to move out to a rented place including deposit fees and 1 month of rent.
But how much would EVERYTHING else cost me?
I've never rented so I had no idea how much it costs for someone to live alone

Lol I didn't mean to thank you I missed the reply button doh!
If you go via an estate agent you are going to have to pay additional fees, ie contract signing, inventory, credit check etc fees. Are you looking in an area like London which has a good market place in www.gumtree.com here you could deal with landlords directly.
Also if this is your first renatal you are going to have to buy a lot of stuff, kettles, toasters, iron, plates etc etc
As regards to everthing else ie fuel bills it depends on the size of the property but I would guess the monthly outlay for a 1 bed flat would be:
Electricity £30
Gas £30
Water rates £20
Tv license £12
council tax varies look online on www.findaproperty.co.uk
telephone?? depends allow say £20
satelite tv -- depends on what package
I think someone that actually lives in a 1 bed flat could give a better indication than my estimates above0 -
£1000 might be under cutting it a bit. It depends on how much your rent is & if you're going through an agency.
I live in a 1 bed.
Council tax £93 a month (but you'll have single persons allowance, check your local councils website for prices)
Water £18 a month
Electricity £15 (we turn everything off at the plug when not in use)
Gas £40
Telephone £10.50
Sky - £16 (includes broadband)
Don't forget TV license, setup costs of telephone line (£125 for us) plus the cost of kitting out your place (iron, kettle, plates, curtains, a mattress, sheets etc etc etc). The only thing worse than smug married couple; lots of smug married couples.0 -
If you find money doesnt stretch far enough for a Tv package, may I suggest you get a freeview box. I got one for less than £15 and we just watch that and buy cheap DVDs if we see one in a store and we fancy watching one. A one off payment of £15 is a lot better than paying £9 a month which is what I would have been paying for the lowest package with Virgin Media.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0
