I found on one cpu HSF which I hated taken off, to blow air in from a foot pump with a fine nossle at the end, the kind you can stand on which blowed a lot of air into the grillsSome of the fans that are in a unit screwed on top of the CPU will have blocks of dust trapped inside, in this case a quick brush or vacuum will not fix it, have to remove the fan from heat sink then remove the dust. I've done this with very good results.0

I been doing this for 12+ years probably more as I have had a pc for 16 years and never once had a issue. I do it every few months on every pc we have which is 4
Still very risky. If someone accidentally touches the end of the hose to a chip because of your advice they could easily fry their motherboard. It's also cumulative damage so even without exceeding the ESD limits you're still reducing the life of the components."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I do make sure it doesn't touch anything it is about10 inches away maybe more from chips I just brush gentle and the suction is quite powerful hence why I keep it some distance its enough to suck up most of the dust0

Got to be careful of the pump you're using and possible water vapour. That's why most "compressed air dusters" aren't actually air at all but compressed fluorocarbons to avoid the detrimental effects of using actual air which may carry water vapour with it. General air flow is fine but compressing it can be a problem, hence it depends on what you're using to pump the air and whether the nozzle potentially collects and disperses water vapour."She is quite the oddball.
