Just clarify things. The staff at Currys did not understand their own price promise policy and I felt that the sales person was just saying the item on display was the last one and had no box was just an excuse not to honor the price promise.

But they don't price match CPW anyway, so you can't get the price match. Do you believe the store staff lied about the stock levels?

Go online and reserve a couple for collection, if they have one then try again.

Why buy from Currys if you believe they lie to you?. Imagine the problems if it develops a fault.

    I quote.

"We’re confident we won’t be beaten on price and check thousands of prices daily to ensure you get the best possible deal. If you do find any of our products cheaper at one of the retailers below, including home delivery, we’ll match it and give you an extra 10% of the difference.

The product must be identical, in stock at one of the retailers below and available for immediate home delivery.

who do we price promise against?
Price promise applies to the lowest price offered by these retailers, whether that’s online or in-store

That's the 'online' thing - the price match small print..

The big sign in the window makes a big play of the word promise. Check the the word in the Oxford dictionary for definition. Sorry but the staff in this store were incompetent.

No, the staff followed company policy. You seem very worked up over a saving of £7. Have you tried ordering it online, for collection?

If they have it in stock then try again, or try another branch.

Why do you want to buy from Currys anyway? In your words they are incompetent, what's going to happen if it goes wrong?

Currys do promise to price match, but only selected outlets. Your problem is with company policy, not the store staff.
  • Due to past expereices my advice to anyone is DON'T BUY FROM CURRYS OR ANY DSG SHOP. Pay a little extra if needed and buy from another retailer. If it goes wrong you will be glad you purchased elsewhere.

Theres always something I find with people who love to use the word incompetent when it comes to them describing others at work. They basically tend to not have a clue what they're on about, are more than likely wrong and also haven't really got an understanding of the situation they're on about, actually the list of faults is endless!
