sony ericsson c905 mobile phone - how to get a good deal

i hope i have put this in the right place as this is the first time i have started a new thread on here.
right, starting at the beginning, i have been following the c905 since june when i was considering what mobile phone to get next - the 905 seemed the perfect choice but there was no release date apart from last quarter of 2008
well, during that time i was looking weekly, and on vodafone (i was already a customer) i found i could get an upgrade for the c902 but would have to pay 65 pounds for the phone and 30 pounds per month for 200 mins and 500 texts, now at the same time they were offering NEW customers the phone free with 500 mins and unlimited texts for the same monthly charge!! surely they should be trying to keep customers by offering the same good deals to them? apparantly not according to the email i got back from them.
however a couple of days ago, the c905 was released and my brother in law managed to get a good deal
18mth contract, 500 mins, unlimited texts, one month internet and free phone
so i phone up, told them i wanted the same deal (as we had both had the same contracts before) and they said they could do it, passed me through to retentions who said they could do me free phone six months internet 500 mins unlimited texts and 24month contract, i said i wasnt happy about 24 month contract and how much notice could i give as i can get good deals elsewhere, at which point he offered me three months half price aswell!
my point is.... get the best deal you can until they cant give anymore - the deals are there to be had if you want to upgrade, but you need to be firm about going elsewhere.
oh, and if you are thinking about the c905 go for it - its a brilliant phone:T

I am also after this phone and have haggled with '3' for a good deal as my contract ends in 3 weeks.
Can't believe they wouldnt budge on their offer of 750 mins and unlimited texts for £35 a month.
I've been with them for more than 6 years but no loyalty here ( with three contracts with them at one point)
They sent my pac code and sent me on my way!
So I'm looking for a good deal if anyone knows of any. (Have seen a few with dialaphone etc)0
