plz help reg memory card for psp

ive got my daughter a memory card with adapter for her psp. I have a card reader.I inserted the memory stick adapter (with the memory card inside) into the card reader. I checked in 'my computer' and clicked on the 'removable disk' but message comes up stating 'please insert a disk into drive G'

What am i doing wrong?? Please help.....

Also, any tips on where i can download games for the psp online?

You cannot freely download games for the PSP online. You can go online wirelessly on the PSP and access the Playstation store, and although the Playstation store for PC is currently under construction, you will eventually be able to download them from there. You will need to update to the latest version of the firmware (5.01) to do this. System > Network update.

With the card, where did you get it? Supposedly there is quite a number of dodgy memory cards doing the rounds on Ebay. Have you tried a different USB port?

If you have a USB cable that will fit in the top of the PSP, you can put the memory card in the PSP, then attach the PSP to the computer. Enter 'USB mode' under the System menu if it does not automatically do so. (If it doesn't enter it as soon as you plug the PSP into the computer, you don't have version 5.01 of the PSP software required to access the playstation store).

Once again, if you attempt to download full games from the internet they will A: 100% guarenteed not work on your PSP, and B: be illegal.

Have you formatted the memory card using the PSP? I don't think that is the problem, but you will need to do it if you haven't already. System > Format memory stick.

put the memory stick back in the psp, scroll to either pictures, videos or music. press triangle with the card highlighted and see if it says magicgate: supported. if it doesnt, you have a fake memory stick.

Domokun, the PS store was added in firmware 5.00. 5.01 is only really useful if you have 8/16gb memory cards as there was an issue with them in f/w 5.0.

you can download games from the internet in the form of flash games (play them through the internet browser) and psp demos for free

ok, i have managed to access the memory card now thru the adapter that was provided (i knw, i knw, im thick LOL). Only problem now is when im pasting the file into the memory stick, i cannot see the file at all on the PSP. Hmm, im sure there is something wrong that im doing.....just not sure what....

format the card in the psp which will give you the files/folder structure you need.
