Having posted some rather rambling comments on here on various threads about online banking security, thought I would add this link as it is a really good article with a clear overview of most of the major threats (written by Kaspersky staff):

Even in the current climate I am still more worried about losing money through online fraud (and the banks refusing to reimburse me because I couldn't prove my virus software wasn't up to date or something), than banks actually collapsing (as in that case the gov will probably reimurse you).
