If all she has done is turn the child lock on and hasn't entered a new PIN then you may get lucky and find that it is set by default to all the same number, such as 0000 or 5555 or maybe the obvious 1234, 2345, etc. It might be worth trying those obvious combinations (if you haven't already).

If the above doesn't work, then maybe this http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/758230
    might help.

Or perhaps a hunt around www.avforums.com might come up with the answer you need.

    Good luck.

Hi, some tv's have a child lock ( hotel mode) and some also have a security lock in case it is stolen .If it is the latter then it can usually only be unlocked with the relevant code that you originally entered. However 'most' child locks are just set with the remote control and accessed with the remote to set on or off in the menu. If she has lost the remote then you have a problem ,although you could ask around to try to borrow a remote to unlock it.
  • Thanks a lot will check out those sites and get hubby to try the codes

She is coming to stay with us for a week ,when OH went to pick her up he realised she has been watching a portable because she can't change channels:confused:

Hope she doesnt touch my tv whilst she is here:rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks again

failing everything else, make a note of the model no. of the tv and you will be able to download the specific manual for your tv. you should then be able to find out about the child lock default PIN.

    use the menu button
    scroll to special features
    scroll down to child lock

use navigation key to go left (or was it right)
