  • Tesco also have the larger spotlight bulbs - the R80 (I think) on this offer.

What I'm wondering is, if we return two of the old traditional style R80's to B&Q this weekend, will they replace like-with-like? Ie, swap them for low energy R80's?

    Hi there
I called in our local B&Q today and they only had one size bayonet type energy saver. you give them one, they give you two, but still worth a visit if passing.

I can confirm this - you may take in any standard bulb, but they only have bayonet energy savers to give in return.
  • Went yesterday. Just one type of bulb (11W bayonet) available. Its the cheapest most freely avaliable 'ugly stick' design that they seem to be giving away at lots of places or 5 for 50p etc and not worth a special journey.

There must be an over supply of this type. They last 10 years and I have enough freebies to last a life time!
I expect the technology will have changed again and made other more efficient ones free by the time ive used my supply up.

Has anyone found some of the 'more attractive shaped' ones that look traditional bulbs, or reflector type, etc at a giveaway price or just the 'ugly stick' ones?
    Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j

There are a range of different shapes (e.g. spiral, candle) that are much more attractive at Tescos from £1.25 and they are currently on buy one get one free until 9th November.

    Hi there
We have 3 Tescos within a 10 mile radius, so if you can,t get them at one, get them at the other. I bought 6 spiral yesterday (Friday) 4 x E14 40w and 2 mini spiral 60w for £ 3.75, not bad at all.

I spotted this ad when I went in the store this morning, so I went and bought a box of 4 of their normal cheap bulbs for 78p and then hubby and I swapped 2 from the box for 4 energy saving ones at the till.
