    Debt-free and Proud!
Worrying about debt is very bad for your health and could actually make you ill,I know this from my own experience and it was only when I was admitted to hospital and couldn't answer the phone or letters, that I realised just how much I worried about them.I found I was trying to shield DH from the bullies on the phone,I would open ALL mail and sort it out, nobody understood how much stress I was under, they knew about the debt, but not the harassment. When I was in hospital,DH had to answer the phone and open letters,he was shocked and that is when we sorted the DMP with Payplan. To make me sleep at night,I have a notebook by the bed,if I have anything on my mind when I go to bed I write it down and then say to myself 'it can wait till morning' I know it sounds silly, but it does work ;) when I know I can do no more, then I stop worrying, nothing is worth your sanity, you are also more able to be constructive and sort things out when you aren't a worried wreck!

Hi - I think debt can take over your whole life if you let it. I think you just have to find a plan that works for you and stick to it like glue, that then reduces the pressure. I'm lucky enough to earn a good income and so my debts are manageable but I'm on a temporary contract and if I lost my job and didn't get another one straightaway life would get very, very hard. This is motivating me to do all I can while we are in the fortunate position of both working to repay what we owe...

going to take a more positive outlook of my money situation. For a couple of years i avoided checking my bank balance, bills etc which is how i got into the trouble, must have just been a low period.
Have in last year done huge amount to sort this out, cancelling everything i can, back to only essential direct debits, just rent £600, mobile +internet £43, elec/gas £50, water £25, council tax £70, loan payment £185, and lovefilm £13(cheaper than cinema/blockbuster).
Have also trained as licensee to up my second job income gone up by almost £60/week.
And started selling on ebay £300 in 2 months, researched into other profitable retro pieces too, hopefully start making money soon!
Growing own vegetables and herbs in tiny garden, work as a chef so virtually no food bills anyway! And getting crafty thinking of doing some string art and cushions to sell. Getting on with my photography to sell too..........
So loads going on good................what more can i do???/:j
