in Credit cards
My brother wants a credit card to use on the internet so I was wondering what you guys think of the following. (He earns just under 20k a year)
Egg Card .... Looks good for discounts in Currys etc.
HSBC .... He has always had a bank acc. with them.
Amex .... Keeps being mentioned on the "Make Me Rich" TV programme good for cashback.
He will pay off his balance in full each month.
He is also worried about internet fraud with his card so would like some good insurance/anti fraud measures for his card. I have installed loads of security software for his computer to minimise the risk from that side of things!!!
Appreciate any tips or mentions of any shortcomings/pitfalls with the above mentioned cards.
Thanks in advance.
Jules

The HSBC card should be of no interest to your brother. If he will pay off the balance in full each month, he will have to look at a cashback card. Your brother will probably be a low annual spender on the card and the Egg Money card seems to be the best for him. It pays 1% cashback (2% offer just ended). Higher spender will go for an Amex card but one of the requirements is that you earn over £20,000. The medium way is Amex Blue. They offer 0.5% on the first £2000 and 1% until you spend £9000. But they also offer 2% for the first 3 months. he will have to do the math.Money in longest works hardest0
