    It's not written in law but I would be very surprised if, once a punter informed the energy supplier of knowing of the ruling's existence, they went on trying to charge for more than 12 months. Only problem being I'm assuming 99.9999999999999999% of the population at large know nothing about this ruling so (un)happily pay those backdated bills with merely a wimper.
