Council Tax Have Wrong Information - Really Worried

Options
Following on from my previous thread about my council tax owing I have fished out both my original council tax bill and also the amended one from when I left work and went on benefits. I mustn't have looked at it properly when I received it as it says I still get single persons discount on both even though when I applied for housing and council tax benefit I put my husband on the form with all his details (my husband only moved in end of March so the single persons discount would've been right when they first sent the bill out.)

Obviously they need informing as soon as possible and will be done first thing Monday morning, how would it work though? If I'd been working we would've underpaid but we're entitled to full council tax benefit, will they just amend it or will we have to reclaim?

Thanks in advance.

I can't speak for the council, however, if it was a DWP benefit and you had declared the right information but was processed inaccurately by a benefits person it would be regarded as an 'official error' and written off.

Thanks for replying Mark, it has to have been input incorrectly as I filled in my husbands details on the housing benefit form. I will ring them on Monday.
