Name change on Expedia booked flights?

Hi,

Ok, I'm in a bit of a pickle & need some advice!

I booked 2 tickets for NY & accomodation through expedia.au (great price) but now I need to change the name on one of the tickets?!

Is this possible & do I need to speak to expedia.au or the actual airline (NWA & Air France)?

If it's not possible to change the name - so the tickets are wasted (not going on my own), can I cancel the hotel I booked through expedia & get a refund?

I paid using my credit card, can I claim off them if I don't go?

TBH, if I can't change the name - all I want is the money for the hotel!

I'm meant to be going in just over a week, if this makes a difference?

Thanks a lot!

Does the ticket say "non changeable" on it. If so that's what it means.

But if it just says "non-refundable" then there is a good chance you can do it (though a fee will be almost certainly involved)

    Contact expedia's customer support.

You should be able to cancel accommodation, again subject to paying a cancellation fee. Check your booking on the expedia site and it shows you the cost of cancelling.

You can't claim off your credit card just because you want to cancel the trip.

I can't find where it says non-changeable or refundable on the online booking?!

    It does say tho:
Scheduled airlines normally regard name changes as a cancellation and rebooking, and any alteration may incur up to a 100% cancellation charge.

    Doesn't look promising!

Also doesn't state about cancelling the hotel.

Looks like I got to phone OZ in the night to findout!

    Cheers

I booked a hotel with expedia, non refundable booking (great price),I then decided to upgrade the room.It said in the small print that there would be a £12.50 charge for any changes. They actually wanted to charge me this,as well as the extra charge to upgrade.
I told them in that case i would uprgade when I got to the hotel! They wisely dropped the charge!!(this was a non refundable booking so might not apply to you)
