Router upgrade?

At just under 7 meg its nothing fancy and pretty pointless for the op to upgrade there router if this is the best there line has to offer although 900m from the exchange I would expect a lot more.
The best thing you can do is go to the link below and put ur details in and it will tell you the best speed you can achieve on your line.

So say if the best your line can give you is 8meg then its pointless upgrading your router.
You have not read my original post properly. My exchange gets upgraded to handle 24meg soon. Hence why I asked if I needed to upgrade my router to ADSL2 to maximise my speed.0 -

If you are going to get one and want to use it for networking as well as internet, I'd go for one that has a 1 Gbps LAN and N-draft spec for wireless....just a bit of future proofing for a few quid more.0 -

I have read your post properly.
As I was saying its pointless upgrading if the speed of your line cant cope with anymore then what you are getting.
And as you haven't told us what the maximum speed you line can cope with then its difficult to say.
If you click on the samknows link above I posted and report back with your findings then we can help more.0 -

Well you have totally misunderstood then because the OP is on ADSL at the moment and will be upgrading to ADSL2+.
