Help have I ruined my oven?

I hope there is a cooker repairer out there that can help, I switched my oven off at the wall for the first time although not new just normally leave it on but in trying to save money in not leaving it on standby.
When I switched back on it now has a rapid clicking noise and instead of lights flashing brightly 0000 to set flashes dimly 8888 nothing happens when I try to reset it.
It is a Stoves 605mf not in guarantee of course.
Have I now got to buy a new oven trying to save money? Ironic.
Hope sombody out there has a answer for me.
Thanks

mine does this after switching off/power cut etc, makes a low buzzing noise though, its a hotpoint, I press the stop button (looks like a hand) and it takes it out of auto mode. Is probably not your problem but it sounds familiar to mine so its worth a try!

Thanks Hotcookie for your tip sadly mine hasn't got a stop button/hand
tried pushing everything alone and all together. Nothing.
Thank's anyway, it was worth a try.0 -
Would it be worth googling your oven make and model and see if there is a fix out there! Hope you find something0

If googling turns nothing up, try doing what you need to do to set the clock-my mums oven flashes 8888 until clock is reset. Or switch it off and on again? (OH is in IT support and it really is the first thing they ask! I know its an oven not a computer but you never know!)

Phone Stoves. They'll know what to do, or be able to send a replacement instruction manual.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Thank's everybody I have googled found nothing
Did switch off/on in fact quite a few times still the same
I have tried to re set but mine normally has 0000 now has 8888 and unable
to get anything to work at all
I will phone Stoves
Maybe a faulty chip or something
Thank's0 -
Press a few of the buttons and see what happens.
I can not see that turning the power on or off can do any harm?I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Ariba 10 tried as you suggested no luck flicked switch off/on a few times fast/slow pressed everything.
I can't believe switching it off at the wall would cause a problem but it has.
So much for turning everything off and trying to save money.0 -
