Just thought I'd share this company with you MSE'ers. I saw a thread on here last week saying about this Scottish company who buy old gold so I had a look on their website and ordered an envelope. It came the next day and I bundled up all my old jewellery, tangled chains, odd earrings etc and sent them off (they send you a freepost Special Delivery envelope). The next day I got a call from them and they offered me £52 for it which I accepted and was paid into my Paypal account within hours. They guy was so friendly and helpful and went out of his way to get a price for some rings which had stones in them with another jeweller.

So all in all, within a week I have made some extra money from old tat that I probably would have thrown away!

Can't recommend them highly enough.

I too used this service after seeing on MSE and I must say they were a pleasure to deal with. I telephoned them and explained what I had, the chap gave me a rough price per gram and sent out a prepaid postage packet with included insurance for upto £ 1000.00. The company emailed me once they receive the packet just to let me know it was safe. Within 1 hour I had a really friendly person on the end of the phone would offered me sightly more than quoted a couple of days earlier. I accepted and by that evening we had an extra £ 447 in our bank account for old broken jewellery that was just gathering dust in my home. So I do highly recommend their honest service.:j

I agree that the service provided by this company is very good. Unfortunately i dithered over whether it would be safe to send my jewellery off to be sold and have probably made about £350 less than i would have if i had gone ahead when i first thought about selling some jewellery. I posted my stuff yeaterday afternoon and i have had an offer just now which i have accepted so i should have my money tomorrow as i expect it's too late now for anything to happen tonight.

If you have jewellery to sell then you have nothing to lose, if you aren't happy with the offer you don't have to accept.

They are also able to assay gold onsite which can save time as local jewellers told me they would have to send it away which would take a fortnight.
