i Recently ordered a dvd worth £17.77 (on credit card statement) from deep discount dvd.
then today i have had to pay £7.36 to retrieve it from the post office.
i phoned up customs saying that an item under £18 shouldn't be charged, and they said "it was 17.77 when you paid for it but at the rate of exhange when we recieved it, it was £18.13"
so because of 36p i have had to pay an extra 45%
get a proper job

Chances are that about 50% of that would be a handling charge added by Roayl MailTitch

Classic. It would be funny if it wasn't so annoying for you. Sorry. ;o)
If you have some spare time, you could fire off a letter claiming it back, stating that you can prove you paid less than £18. They might give you a refund rather than fight you.0 -
Perhaps instead you could do business with companies who pay VAT to the exchequer, thereby helping to fund schools and hospitals?0

They don't allow items labelled over £18 through withou t tax is the exchange rate moves in the opposite direction.
So much for free trade.
Not much Christmas spirit there.0
