From this very descriptive webpage: http://www.ephotozine.com/article/Make-your-own-passport-photos
First stage is taking the picture Here's what the Passport Office requires:
    • Two identical photos.
    • Photos must be taken within last month.
    • The photo must be taken against a light background (either white, off white, cream or light grey so that your features are distinguishable and contrast against the background).
    • Clear and of good quality.
    • Printed on low gloss, plain white photo-quality paper with no watermarks, embossing or printing on the back. Using professional or high-res inkjet printer
    • Free from copyright (school photos are not acceptable)
    • Unmounted 45mm high x 35mm wide. (do not trim bigger photos to meet this condition)
    • Full face (without sunglasses and normally without a hat unless the applicant wears a head covering due to their religious beliefs or their ethnic background, which is acceptable)
Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.

I do ours manually in photoshop, I set up a 6x4 300 dpi image (1800x1200 pixels), then split it with a 8 zone grid (4 boxes on top row, 4 on bottom), then find a good picture, meeting the requirements, scale and crop to fit, and duplicate in the zones.

Flatten the image, save as a high quality JPEG and print at a high street store (Boots, Jessops etc as a 6x4 photo).

This worked well for me - gives a print of 8 identical pics printed in a sheet 6x4 on any photo printer.
    Signature No Longer acceptable -
