Electric oven display fault

Hi all,
Two months ago I purchased a new Hopoint oven with lcd display panel and over the last two weeks the display panel has become faulty, with the back lights staying on and digital clocks showing a mixture of letters and numbers.
I have had an engineer out who changed the panel, left the premises and two hours later the same fault.He came back thr next day and spoke to tech guys at his head office and they told him to order a different part to see if this fixes fault and if not then it will be a fault on the supply from the house.
Can anyone shed any light as to what the fault maybe with supply or are they just trying to fob me off.
