- Place the iron up on it, metal side down.
- Wait for the fire to start.
- Turn off the iron at the wall and unplug.
- Pour the water from the washing up bowl onto the aforementioned fire.

Hey at least we put our own fires out...
When the XOH tried to burn the house down (twice!) guess which muggins had to put the fires out? (twice!)
