Getting money back
Options
Hi, I took over the tenancy of this house over a month ago when my parents moved out. At that time I was still using their Gas card and Electric key as Scottish Power hadnt sent new ones out. I contacted them a couple of weeks ago to get new ones and I have them now though have not used them yet. They had a guy come out to recalibrate the electric meter (not sure of gas). There was £15.49 of my money on the meter which I "lost" when he recalibrated. When I spoke to the people at SP they said I would have to contact them or something and they would calculate how much they have to return to me. I havent heard anything since, and Im down to about £10 left from £25 that the guy put on the meter for me. How do I go about getting my money back and also paying their money back to them? Im a bit worried since they sent a letter to my parents saying they were in credit by £12 on the gas even though I was the one who put the money on (cant expect me to not use anything!), but how do they even get that money back? Not so sure how these things work as this is my first home.
Thanks
Thanks

If you continued to use your parents card after the supplier had been told they had moved out the money would be creditted to them and it will appear like you have bought no fuel. Therefore only use your device and get the refund from your parents.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
