Are drink fountains worth it?

Hiya, I was thinking about getting Podge (Tess) my cat one of those drink fountains for xmas
Yep, she has to have prezzies too! Are they worth it or would it be better to just buy cheap bottled water? My cat has wet food right now, because she's had Cystitis 2x, the last time at the end of 2006 (Hopefully sending her to the Cattery tomorrow won't cause a 3rd bout) & so I never see her drink.
I was wondering if this would sorta encourage her?
She's 10 1/2yrs old now & I wouldn't want her on dry cause of her Cystitis (Tho she's also had her teeth scaled & polished 2x in the 8 1/2yrs i've had her too, so dry would help!)
Don't fancy spending a fortune if she'll just ignore it, as she does her nice beds, huge scratching post etc!

mine have a drinking fountain and they all love it. some drink out of the pool at the bottom and others drink off the dome, i think it's worth it overall

the fountains aren't that expensive, i think mine cost under £20 off ebay and you need to change the filters about once a month too

We have it for the 2 dogs and the cat. The dogs like it more than a bowl, and the cat likes to play with the dome.

And in the summer its been known for the dogs to lean against it to keep cool (yes this does mean the water goes everywhere and they get soaked... lol)
