Can anyone suggest anywhere nice to stop off that might have something fun to do for my 4 year old.
We will be travelling down the M5 and don't want to divert off the road for long, but really don't want to subject him to yet another service station.
A soft play centre, a fantastic park, etc. I have checked the National Trust website but nothing really comes up.
Thanks

Sanders Garden World just off the M5 at J22 (Brent Knoll) has lots to amuse kids. They sell small animals, reptiles and aquaria - if you get a nice member of staff on duty, they have been known to let you handle the snakes!
There is also an outside play area with a big pirate ship to play on - Mum and Dad can have a coffee outside and watch. Restaurant where the food looks nice, but is pricy (but so are service stations!)

Hi Counting Pennies,
If you come off the M5 at j21, Weston-super-Mare, try Puxton Park http://www.puxton.co.uk/. My children (5 and 3) go there quite often if it's wet weather and they can't go to the beach, and they love it. My mum also thinks it's great!0 -
There is a Brewers Fayre (with Brewsters soft play area) about 5 minutes from J19 (Portishead). Food and play all under one roof! This junction is straight after the Avonmouth Bridge where there are roadworks going on at the moment. You may be in need of a break after going through them.0

There is a brewers fayer just off of junction 23 (bridgwater - dunball)
If you are prepared to travel a few mins from the junction there is a play village called the willows, litterally just down the road and turn right from the brewers fayre, better equipt, not partitioned off and no obligation to purchase dire dinners.
