Disclosing tablets...

...does anyone know where I can get them and approx how much they are?

I am fed up of my 9 yr old brushing his gums and thinking he is doing a good job lol.

I am hoping that if I buy some it will help teach him exactly where to brush.

Thanks in advance! :T

Boots about £1.70 for a box of 12.

Normally in with the interdental brushes and stuff.

I have recently bought some of these myself from Boots from their own "smile" range, cant remember the actual cost, but recall them being around £3 for 15 tablets.

I found a website www.dentalshop.co.uk and got some there along with other brushes etc. I am having Dental Surgery next month - a deep clean and pocket reduction (costing a fortune v long wait on NHS) which will be what he will need if you don't get the plaque off. I have also had to have back teeth removed, partially hereditary but mostly not having been to a Dental Hygienist regularly (mind you did not know they existed when I was a kid but they have been trained since 1St world War) and not brushing in the approved fashion - no longer up and down - small circles now I believe.

Definately think the discloser is a good idea to start.

    Good Luck

You could ask at your dentist.

We often get sample packs to give out, but tend to be just 4s.

Get your kids to brush FIRST. Then chew a tablet, then see where they've missed, then brush again.

We have some pretty neat ones that my OHI uses. They stain old plaque a different colour to new plaque, so you can see the stuff that's been there for days!!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Mouthwash is generally useless, except in a few specific cases.
