I've been on the HSS in the height of bad weather. It was a scary experience.

I wonder if these "technical difficulties" are the same type that the airlines use when they don't want to have to pay compensation for cancelled flights...is there a possiblility that if they cancel because of the weather...they would have to pay out or make alternative arrangements...
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

  • I would have thought the weather would create technical difficulties if the boat is being chucked around in 90 mile an hour winds??!! Anyway, would you rather be safely in your warm car drinking grey tea and eating Stranraer's best chips, or violently throwing up with hundreds of others doing the same around you, and praying for survival, stranded out at sea because it is too dangerous to dock for hours? Hmmm... now let me think which I would prefer...
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T
  • I think sitting in your nice warm car (not) for 12 hours from 6pm on Friday until 6.30am on Saturday morning and then having to face a 4hour sailing. not the best of experiences to be had.

The rumour is the HSS was hit by a big wave last Wednesday and sustained damage.
