e systems pc problem

hello my friend has given me a e systems PC that did have vista on it problem is some how they managed to wipe it clean but have not put vista back on, so I'm now stuck with a dead PC. i have got product key for vista and it was bought legally, but no recovery CD. so my problem is can i and if so where can i get a recovery CD from also where do you get drivers for this type of machine, i have visited there website but i cant find link for any type of download. please help I'm sorry for lack of info but Ive not got PC in front of me at moment.

Have you tried a recovery partition?

Most computers these days ship with a recovery partition onboard. Granted Vista requires you to tap the F8 key during boot to gain access to this feature and without Vista installed your pretty stuck. But its still possible that the PC has a recovery partition accessed another way - Try one of the following to see if it helps:

During boot up press:

F11 or F10 or F9 (one during each attempt and press repeatedly)

Alternativley try holding ALT and pressing F10 repeatedly

Otherwise I'd contact E-Systems and ask them if theres a way of doing it without the recovery CD..
