insurance comparison and cashback sites

I have done comparisons through comparethemarket.com and confused.com.
Having found the policy I want, I have tried gone through Quidco using identical details but can't get the same level of cover at the same price as the comparison sites
Any ideas???
TIA

Well yes, the cashback sites aren't offering the same prices, simle as that.

If the price with cashback significantly better than the other sites?
In general it makes sense to get the cheapest but bear in mind that cashback is not guaranteed.

Also if you do decide to get cashback then my advice is to use a different pc or different browser so that it does not get confused in any way with the quote from the comparison site.
Similarly do not retrieve a previous quote.
If you go onto a cashback site but it's tagged i some way with the ID from the comparison site, then the comparison site will get the commission and you won't get your cashback.

If you have access to 2 pcs (home and work) then use a seperate one where you haven't done quotes.
If you only have acess to 1 pc then you could try a different browser.

I've used cashack sites with insurances before, so I always clear cookies etc but thats not the problem. Usually, I do the comparison, pic the cover I want and then go through quidco and start the quote from scratch using the same answers and details. This would normally bring up the same cover for the same price as the comparison site, but for some reason it doesn't this time. Can't understand why and wondered if ayone could shed some light on it.

Are you 100% certain that you have put in exactly the same details, down to modifications, protected ncd, legal cover, class of cover excess etc.
It's quite easy to have a difference here as there are so many options.

If not it's simply the case that once site is giving discounts the other site isn't.

Yes, I clicked through the comparison site link to check the answers first.
    Thanks for your help though.

The insurers do deals to pass on commission to the various sites. They vary their prices depending on how much they are paying.

So they must be paying more to the affiliate tracker sites than they do to the price comparison sites.

As always, you need to shop around to get the best deals.

Looks like I need to spend a bit more time on this then!
    Thanks

commission and prices vary with different intermediaries and brokers. There is no "factory gate" pricing yet (if at all) in insurance.
