Promises of update every week but nothing happens, I am desperate to get my money back , carefully saved over 10 years now need it to pay bills.If I get my money back I will keep it all under the mattress ,never trust banks again ever. Spend it ..stuff saving !

The information seems to be still flowing from the Icelandic PM's press conference at http://straumur.nyherji.is/exms/Catalog/?cid=85bc11cd-5bab-4dae-88e2-a64850760fed which started 35 minutes ago (in Icelandic).
Bloomberg has just reported they hope for £2B$ from the IMF, but the unattributed IMF leak said 1B$ will be considered by the IMF next week.
I expect there will soon be some authoritative info in English on the www.icenews.is site.

From being very patient at the beginning of all this I too am getting a little peeved off with this myself now.I want my money back come on Alistair get your finger out and sort us out NOW as you promised. Iceland obviously has no intentions of honoring any commitments it has to us.And where are this weekly updates more tosh being dealt to us me thinks.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

It says it hopes $2B will be approve by IMT executive board as soon as possible. I cant see anything speciifcally about paying back foreign savers.

The press conference has just had a bit in english. PM is summarising...

Formal dialog with IMF will be enagaged in. (IMF press breifing later this afternoon.) Iceland decided to seek coop with INF and several countries, Talks with Nordic countries initiated today following the IMF talks. IMF making availabkle $2B 800M on approval by IMF borad . repayment 201-2015. IMF board we hope in ten days time. Very pleased with this important step.

Asked about telecon with Darling-
1. Icelandic government intends to fulfil obligations
2. Unable to meet all the UK government claims
3. EU directive and experts think the obligation is lower, but EU directive is flawed
4. iceland will not be terrosied by the fact the Terooist legislation has been used against it.
5. Will try for an agreemnet with UK, if not will go to some kind of arbitartion.

Grrrr, he is talking about arbiters and taking it to courts of law to resolve the issue, this is going to go on and on and on, when will we see our bloody money.

He just keeps bleating about how we should not have used terror laws.....

Lady says rule of law applies to dispute with UK, not gun point diplomacy!

Beyond the $2b from the IMF as an anchor will be hoping for other TBD from friendly countries.

Two seperate issues - one with IMF, other the bilateral disputes with UK and netherlands - it is not appropriate for the IMF should put conditions iceland will not accept such conditions from the IMF.. Doesnot think the UK or Dutch IMF board memebers would block the IMF loan.
