Mystery pop up blocker

Hi, something on my PC is blocking pop ups which i dont want, have been in internet options/privacy and pop up blocker is off, have turned off firewall and anti-virus, still doesnt work, any ideas where I can look for this pesky thing, it didnt used to do this, must be something to do with some download i suppose.
Any help appreciated

    I get a message bottom left hand corner saying "A popup window was blocked" there is an internet explorer e just to the left of the message

  • Have you got IE or Firefox, Firefox can block pop-ups? Have you installed any Google toolbars or applications? They can have pop-up blockers included.

    im guessing theyre using IE as they mention internet options which firefox doesnt have or it does but its called options,
  • In IE - Tools - internet options - privacy tab - there you should see pop up blocker

    already checked that.
    Its IE, there is also a wondows live toolbar and a yahoo toolbar, i can get them off screen but dont know how to uninstall them

    Yahoo toolbar (Possibly windows too) has a built in popup blocker
    Goto CONTROL PANEL and UNINSTAL PROGRAMS and they should both be in there
