Savings rates due to come down anytime soon???

With BoE slated to be reducing rates again very soon, do the panel foresee any drastic savings rate cuts in the near future. Or does the "normal" trend not apply in today's extra-ordinary circumstances of high inter-bank lending costs?

Your learn-ed opinions on this matter are sought.

  • The savings rates will come down but since the LIBOR is up not by a lot.

I would be putting money in fixed instruments today rather than a savings account without a fixed rate.

I'd say savings rates are already dropping, many "top rated" fixed rate bonds are disappearing, and some internet savings accounts and instant access issues are already dropping rates, it'll continue for a while when the BoE drops the base rate again for sure. IMO.
