Abbey UK Call Centre

Does anyone know a number of a UK call centre for Abbey National that can deal with me direct instead of putting me through to India!!! After 3 weeks I still have no news as to whether my application for a Fixed Rate saver has been accepted! I sent my ID off by freepost 2 weeks ago and no news yet as to whether they have received it. Tried ringing this morning and got nowhere with them. In the meantime I have managed to open an internet account with Birmingham Midshires with no trouble at all. Am seriously considering moving all my savings to them. Anybody help with a direct number please?

  • They have UK call centres in Glasgow, Belfast, Liverpool and Milton Keynes, all at least as incompetent as the one in India.

The only way I found effective was to go into the local branch and demand that they deal with it. They'll tell you it's an internet account and nothing to do with them. Ask for the manager, tell him as he is employed by Santander/Abbey you expect him to deal with it and you aren't leaving until he does. He'll make some calls for you if you make his position suffiently clear.

PS. If you think opening an account with them is hard, just wait till you try to close one. That's when the fun really starts.

I found this telephone number on the http://www.saynoto0870.com website.

01908 680123 This is a Milton Keynes number.
According to the website, it's the complaints department.

My daughter in-law has had terrible trouble with Abbey.

    Good luck.

Ringing them is a waste of time as you can't actually believe what you are told. I say that from personal experience. You have to write to them as this will at least prompt a reply that you have on record if things go wrong.

Looking forward to closing my 3 Bradford + Bingley accounts when they are rebranded as Abbey ! Closed 3 ex National + Provincial BS accounts in the late 90,s and i,ll be damned if I let these clowns near my money again.

To the OP.Dont touch them with a bargepole
I have a deep burning indifference
