Is the media coverage more because it affecting capital citys?

I was just thinking is all the media hype greater as this resession is going to be more about London and other capital city across the world?
Being that the FSI is always based in the capital city's of the world are we seeing a greater panic because it is on their doorstep?

I work in the midlands and house prices have been affected but the recsession at the moment has not realy registered. (so far, unlike the 90s)

Is coverage higher because it affects the people in the capital more than those "poor factory workers up north" this time?

Could we see businesses moving from london to the north to cut costs?

It will affect those poor factory workers in the north when some of the factories start closing down..
The problems in the city are of course affected most in London, because that's where it is!
The actual recession will affect everyone, who is affected. You and me might not be (in fact I already am) but others will.

I have no doubt lots will be affected and of course it will affect the north.
But what i am trying to say is it affected general industry a lot more last time. This time the capital are feeling the full force of it

This time it may help some exporters to grow.

I hardly think its started affecting general industry yet. I am convinced we are at the top of a very big drop. Hold on to your hat.

I am optimistic about it, although I have lost a huge amount of work, we as a family will be fine, mostly because we have no debts, but I still think it will happen.

Don't get me wrong it will effect everyone but will the demographic of the affects be switched this time? And is that why there is so much panic?

There is panic because of mass media and because those who understand what is going on, are very very scared.

I'll tell you afterwards who was affected. But DFS are looking a bit shaky :D

It is an interesting point. I guess a recession that has started with a banking crisis would start to have an impact in the area with the greatest concentration of banks, that being London. I also suppose that as many journalists will know someone who works in a bank, it is more visible to them.

Maybe. Not too many did during the boom years so it's hard to see why they would during a recession. I think that a lot of businesses in the South East are going to end up shut rather than relocating.

Thanks. I suppose the answer to your question is kinda. I just added padding.
