My laptop battery..

I primarily use my AC adapter (mains plug) when using my laptop, I've only ever used the battery once, I wanted to know if this is such good idea.

Does my battery deteriote or will it get damaged if I dont use it lets say for a year or two

The battery is a Li-Ion

Li-Ion batteries only live for about 2-3 years. I've just replaced the one in my Archos.
