  • hi-

as another "newbie" being following this with interest. Applied in abbey branch last friday and got told on tuesday would get 4k on it. Also, got accepted for egg money today for £900 (a bit low ?) but maybe not a bad thing for this particular card if i understand concept right. Any tips for 3rd and final card with regards to avoiding double applications avoiding mbna and egg.I have looked at stoozing.com but would value more experienced opinions. Also, any way of hurrying up abbey cheques.how long on average to come through?

pardal-for your info-last 2 years i earned £20k and only debt i have is a small joint mortgage. i was a bit dissapointed with abbey limit but tried to push them slightly and all i got was "you could get a loan". never mind, got to start somewhere i suppose! maybe they don't see enough profit in me!

    regards

Absolutely right, you want egg money to be your card to route (mule) money into your stooze pot.

I'd probably try TSB as they offer 9mth 1st 6 weeks or maybe HSBC - 9mths 30days; however more experienced stoozers can advice on possible problems with too many applications within a short period of time. My limit with HSBC was quite dissapointing, but want to wait till Jan to see other offers, specially from MBNA cards, as I haven't got one on my deck.

Not sure, maybe veteran stoozers will assist you on this one.

don't get disappointed as you're a first-time stoozer (same as me) and after all you're making money for free.

    good luck ;)
  • pardal51 - I am a bit confused with the concept at the moment

Right I have £3.5K with Barclays at the moment,
    • Do I BT that amount (3.5k) to Egg Money - Just opened with a £1.8k limit , which I won't touch
    • then when egg money is in credit from the cash from Barclays, transfer this money from egg (£3.5k) to my stooz pot
    • pay monthly bills (min) to barlcays until 0% offer finishs? and then transfer all of the cash outstanding from Stooz pot to barclays or BT from another card.

    Yes!! (easy isn't it?).

However, just make sure you don't contravene the Barclaycard T&C's by transferring a 'fictitious' debt. I'm not familiar with their T&C's but some card providers say (specifically written into their T&C's) that you must 'owe' the money to another provider.

EDIT: Just seen your signature - I take it January is 'get your own back' time?
  • Brillant - thats cool! - now time to dig out the terms of Barclays if its still 0% :)

Yep, Jan 2006 is getting very near now - 1 more bill to come in the post and its revenge on these companies :D - I reakon by the end of Jan I would be stoozing away :j

Also, depending on your monthly expenditure you might be "willing" to reduce your CL on your egg money. This may help to get a higher CL on other cards that you will be applying in the future to increase your stooz pot.

Not a problem - I will give it a few weeks/months and give egg a call to reduce the limit. I think its also time to close down Captial one now as well

hehe, I wish I cracked on earlier with stoozing

You may find even easier to send egg a secure message, through their website, to reduce your CL. That's how I did and CL was reduced within 24hrs.

    Good luck with stoozing ;)
